I come from a land down under
Nick: For sure the Boss is a viable alternative that bolts up :)

Not sure on which CHRA they ended up using but I suspect it's something modern that takes advantage of the newer tech and isn't based on a to4..

On the Boss? They say it is an ITS center section, with either a floater or dual ceramic, your choice. You can get it with a big shaft also, for strength. Yeah, I have been window shopping. ;)

the pt61 is real close to a non bb gt35r. we have them on sale for $749 right now (normally $999). the gt4082 is a little smaller, where the gt4088 is a little bigger. both of those sell for $815. let me know if i can be of any help.

I have a GT3582R on my 7M. Made 440RWHP@18psi on a very conservative tune. Basically stock timing under boost(no more than 16-17degrees) and 10.0-10.4s on the A/F's. I love this turbo, comes on quick and hits hard. For a street car its perfect IMHO. I have a .68 hotside. As for losing power up top, not much was lost. I have a dyno sheet but not to where I can post it right now, maybe later.

I'm no turbo expert, but it looks like turbo in the pic is a 60mm, with a To4E compressor housing and .70 A/R turbine housing. Not sure on the wheel of the turbine.

Dr Jones had a very nice powerband with his SP57 (60mm wheel). He used a very small hot side (.58) while having a big .70 A/R compressor housing. I don't remember of him complaining about any surge. And he put down 480rwhp untuned.

I personally liked my SP61GT best out of all the turbos I have owned. I think the stock log manifold (while restrictive), really helps spool.

$749?

That's a heck of a deal!
Is the .81 turbine housing the extra $100 ?

jeez. thanks for pointing that out. im still used to selling them for $749 because that was their price for quite a while. pricing has gone up since then. i really shouldnt post when i first get up lol.

the pt61 for $749 is the right price tho.
