Hey guys,

Does anyone have a schematic or diagram as to where the turbo pressure sensor assembly is located, harness and vacuum line.

little stumped, any help is appreciated

Its on the drivers side fender next to the injector resistors. Little black square with 2 hoses going to it in front of the cruise control stuff and behind the shock tower. It says pressure sensor or something like that on it.

Btw its only for the gauge and nothing else.

Ya unless you have the stock gauge with wiring its useless. Might as well just get a aftermarket gauge preferably a electric one.

Hi.

This sensor is connected to the el-system. And then, behind the cluster, it is connected to a white box. But from this box, there is 3 wires (white, black and yellow) Anybody know where these wires are connected to the cluster? Do i need a trubo cluster to hook it up, or can i use a N/A cluster and just swap the voltmeter with the boost gauge?

You will need the turbo cluster or guage with the "white box" from the turbo cluster. Also the wiring that plugs into the white box is in the harness even on na models, but the side that connects and goes out the fender is not there.

BTW on a related subject does anyone have or can take a picture of the stock sensor where you can see wire color and orientation of the wires (ie the order they are plugged into the sensor). I am wiring one on a na-t swap and ran new wires but not sure the order they go in. or just tell me the order in the engine bay with orientation to the sensor(ie sensor connector facing you, vac line facing down, left line is x color and right line is x color).

Ok.

I have the cluster, i have the gauge, i have the white box and i have the boost sensor to mount in the engine bay. As you say, how do you connect this sensor? Does it take vacuum from the intake manifold? Is the connector to the boost sensor on the 7mgte engine harness?? Or do i need to hook it up with new wires?

Anybody who can tell me step by step, or make a easy drawing? =)

Saw this thread and it kinda left me hanging ...
I have a 1JZ installed in a '87 NA. I purchased a '87 Boost gauge and "white box" and would like to install them in my N/A cluster.

I have the (JZ) turbo pressure sensor installed on the fender and connected to a vacuum line on the intake and have the connectors and wiring from the pressure sensor to the white box on the back of the gauge cluster. There are 3 wires that exit the "white box" and connect to the cluster, a white, yellow and black. I have connected the black to an earth connection on the cluster. I don't know which wire goes where on the boost gauge. The JZ "white box" has blue and brown and I know where they go, because they are still connected.

The other issue I noted was that the connections to the PC board are not the same. On the JZ cluster the top boost gauge connection is not connected to anything on the cluster except for the blue wire coming from the "white box". The lower connection is IGN + and the brown wire is connected to it.
On the N/A the top connection (the ex-volts gauge) is wired via the PCB to IGN+ and the lower connector is E.

Any assistance would be appreciated to guide me in getting the Boost gage to work:

1. Do I break (by break I mean scratch a hole in the copper so there is no connection) the PCB connection to the top Boost gage screw and connect the __________ wire?
2. Do I break the connection to the lower E connection and hardwire a IGN + and connect the ___________ wire?
3. There is a capacitor installed in the power circuit (according to the TEWD and the JZ circuit board, I assume that will also be required?
4. Do I need to swap the internals of the "white box"? Is the JZ boost pressure sensor and the "white box" a matched set or are they all the same?

It will be in the EWD, including connector layouts and connector locations. For example;
