well guys... when i drive my car hard my turbo glows red.... things i have checked/ know about... i know my timing is off 2 degrees.. cat not clogged. is timing off 2 degrees enough to make it glow? i got to pull cps and put it in right. but havent done it yet. car preforms ok with it off 2 degrees so it isnt my main priority. plus i only have sunday nites off and thats it. but now i have to drive my car WITHOUT boosting because my turbo glows:( so i gotta drive like a granny lol. any other causes yall can think of that might cause this? Thanks.

the timing will efect EGT's so mabey you should set it back to what the tsrm says and go from there or fix the cps. do you have your heat shield on? and one more thing, try taking a video of it glowing so we can see it. might help the guys out.
and always post a list of mods that is done to the car to help out as well.

I come from a land down under
Pull #1 plug, grab an old chopstick and sit it on the piston then turn the crank with a ratchet and wait for the choptick to stop them compare the mark on the damper to the one on the timing case.

so the cps is set 2 degrees off, or 2 teeth off? I would think if you are off you could be able to adjust 2*, but if you are off 2 teeth might have some trouble bringing that back in.

Positive CATS are not plugged? there are 2 and the one on the downpipe is a bitch to verify, with the bends.

well i can only get the timing to set to 8. so im assuming its just a tooth off. anf as far as the cats go... i can blow leaves bout 10 foot behind my car. so i wouldnt think so but correct me if im wrong.

Well, the exhaust is till going to come out the tailpipe, it's just that it has to work that much harder(and heat way up in the process) to do it.
