Turbo oil line, bolt fell into oil dipstick hole, what to do????

I'm currently about to axe murder my neighborhood...while I was trying to put the nut to fasten on the oil line for the turbo to the block, the nut dropped into the oil dipstick hole. How do I get it out, do I have to get it out, will it find it way to a bad place and ruin my engine....please help.....!!!!!!! Trying to get my car running today after a 2 month rebuild.

If it isnt lodged in the hole it is now resideing in your oil pan. Either is bad and it Must be removed. You don't want a loose bolt in your motor..... You may have to drop the pan.

or you could try opening the drain bolt and pray it comes out....

try using a telescoping magnet. who knows, you may get lucky.

If it's in the pan you could try using a strong magnet and move it all around the outside of the pan down to the drain hole and hope it comes out... =\

Didn't think the dipstick hole is big enough for a nut to go down there....

I'm guessing it's stuck on the subframe near the rack.

Did you actually see it go down the tube?

If you did - did you pull out the tube to make sure it went all the way down?

Yep...just tried to do the same thing on the motor I have on the stand. The nut will not fit down the dipstick guide. The nut has found a good place to hide, but I'll bet that place is not the oil pan.

agreed, the nuts for the oil draing flange wont fit in the dip stick hole. i'v been doing alot of messing around with the dip stick tube, the bolt that holds the tube in place on the turbo twisted inhalf, so i have no way to hole the dip stick tube in place, it keeps coming loose and i lose oil while driving

It did find its way into a nasty litter crevice/black hole and ended up finding it using some good ole fashion cussin. Thx all, cars running great after the rebuild.
