Well I just put my stock 2 pcs back in and turns out there is no more lag on my T4. Before I had my aluminum driveshaft in and it worked great for the stock turbo, but for the T4 it was pretty sluggish since it spooled around 4,000 rpms. Now boost kicks in at around the same time as the stock turbo, 3,000 rpms; this is with a .84 exhaust housing and .62 intake.

Not too bad in my opinion.

Not to mention the thread name says "Turbo lag eliminated". I sort of took it literally... more like "turbo lag reduced".

The only way I could picture this working is by what johnathan was saying, "more load on the engine" due to the extra weight the engine is having to spin to make the car move, but 1K less? C'mon...

I think I might convert my drive shaft to a 4 piece, I would probably be boosting around 1500 rpms then right?

Anybody have a few extra carrier bearings laying around?

Well basically like one guy mentioned, it just puts more load on the engine and allows the turbo to boost faster.

Same concept as brake boosting, but yes it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me. I swapped from the jawsgear aluminum 1 pcs 11lbs shaft to the stock piece and it basically woke up the car.

You guys probably don't believe a word I'm saying, but it's understandable. I don't really care, all I know is my T4 feels like a CT26, but pulls all the way to redline.

:biglaugh:

For the record, I'm using a cheap eBay turbo and I beat a nearly stock wrx by 4 car lengths at 6 psi! I sure you guys won't believe that either, but who cares.
