turbo experts come in/ turbo identification

hey guys

i just bought a nother 89 supra and i have no clue what turbo this is. What do you guys think it is?

The inlet is 3 inches and its extranal gated
the only markings i can see are numbers on the outside where the compressed air exit. it seys : 35288

any quesses would be great

I dont knwo what it is but just wanted to comment. Maybe a to4. NIce find was it cheep or what? Dose it run and any saft play on the turbo?

take off the compressor housing and measure the wheel with a slide caliper. Let us know what the measurements are.

Looks like somebody shaved the lettering off of a CT26...but looking at it, it's quite a bit bigger than a Skeet-T26.

it is a t4 for sure. exhaust looks like .63 or higher, but lower than .85 a/r

like they said, you need the compressor wheel's inducer and exducer diameters to know exactly what it is.

yea i'll clean the engin bay... gime a brake ive only had the car about 8 hours
its been sitting around for about a year and a half with wiring problems. im gonna get it running then i'll start fixing/cleaning it.

its a t4 of some sort but i dont see an adaptor on there where it bolts to the manifold. that looks similiar to my brother's turbo (t4 garrett custom setup) but past that {shrug} your guess is as good as mine....

i agree its def a to4e. but i dont think its the hks or t'netics upgrade. neither of those had v-band turbine housings from what ive seen. also, they were both internal gated, altho that could have been modified as well.

it's near impossible to tell what turbo it is from the outside. pull the turbo, pull the housings, measure inducer/exducer of each wheel....
