I have noticed the heat and wondered about it because the 3000 tube is so close to the turbo. I have also read about wrapping the exhaust manifold and was considering doing heat control when I upgrade my engine. (will still be 7M)
I just wasn't really concerned with the stock CT26 heat because I felt it was something that has been there for over 20 years and never been covered, so it must only have a minimal effect. (mind you.. I am running stock boost and dont beat on the car)

Will be watching to see what solution is found.. I think just because Im a fussy kind of owner.. I will follow and get a blanket for my tiny turbo... :)

i think so. they are selling that one on e-bay for $48 shipped.
i just wrapped my downpipe today, and i'll be ordering that blanket later.

This is the CX blanket on a CT housing I had it the garage.... it fits, but it is going to interfere with the wastegate flap opening.

That's the older style turbo blanket. The newer style are supposed to work better.

I'm taking another look at the cheap turbo blankets, despite my results on my dsm, I just can't afford to spend $230 on one of these things. I was reading that the junk ones are only made of fiberglass and can only handle about 1000F. The good ones can take about 2000F and have better materials. So maybe not all of the cheap ones are junk, and it was just the kind that I bought.

it doesnt look THAT bad...but i can foresee what it would look like after some use, dirt buildup and a pressure washing or 2 to make it dull/stained.
