hey guys this is my first time. so take it easy on me. Here goes. I blew my hg which inturn warped my head and even my block. I bought a used JDM motor from an importer for 1200CAD which i thought was a good deal. Not wanting to ever have to pull it again i decided to tear the new one down and at least do the mhg and arp bolts. once i started to ripe shit off of it things didnt look right, the turbo has a much bigger inlet, the throttle body is bigger, and the fuel injectors are not the same as stock. This leads me to think perhaps I get a turbo-a moter? if this is the case I am happy but I am still using a 1989 carcass with the original wiring harness, cpu,and maf. Some of the sensors are different so I'll change them, but will this thing work, If so what should i do to cause the least headache. basically can i drop it in, hook up the wiring harness, the stock maf and go or what? I am adding a full 3" exhaust ,hard pipes and a boost controller, but that dosn't have to do with my question.

thank you for your time

check for the intake temp sensor on the back of the intake manifold.

edit: this is boost pssh boost...father didn't log out. :evil2:

ya it had a sensor on the back of the intake but it is broken it also had a 3" pipe where the 3000 pipe should have been that had all of the stock connections and bolt downs.

TurboA differences
The difference between a standard mk3 supra and a Turbo-A

- Larger throttle body
- Unlabelled intake pipe of larger diameter (ie: no '3000'pipe)
- Compressor side turbo larger
- D-Jetro MAP system (Manifold ABsolute Pressure) Speed/Density air metering & accompanying ECU (as opposed to MAF Mass Air Flow metering). Does away with restrictive air flow meter. On standard mk3s until you go advanced piggyback or standalone engine management, you'll still be going through the air flow meter.
- Larger CT26 turbo with the "E" symbol on Compressor Cover as identification
- Boost up from 0.48kg/cm2 to 0.55kg/cm2 (larger actuator)
- Unique ECU to match D-Jetro system
- Metal air cleaner box
- Larger inter cooler
- Oil cooler moved to center position, below turboA duct

The Turbo-A CT26 was actually Toyota's largest compressor wheel on any single turbo'd unit rolling off the assembly line...
