Hey

I come from the world of dsm's, as everyone one knows that before 95 it was obd1. With dsm's there was a program that you could install on your palm pilet or even a emulator of a palm pilet you could put on your labtop and hook it up to a port under the dash for logging runs watching rpm, boost, knock, coolent temp, and a bunch of other things as well. Is there anything like this for the supra down loadable like that for logging?

Thanks

Aaron

most 95 talons are obd2...ish....its a really funky year for those cars...they dont have all the functions of pure obd2 but they have the obd2 plug with logging.

Its cheaper than lets say AEM, Motec, and other standalone's. I have seen first hand experience and the guy that ran it said he loved it. It will get expensive if you don't know how to do your own work. Remember you have to build the harness and do base maps which is all all very time consuming. Good luck :icon_bigg

I will be doing all my own work as i have had experience with megasquirt with the dsm and seen how much work that goes into them and also helped tune maps as well.

Thats not a tunning device it's a datalogger and its just showing you values the ecu is seeing, you use an safc on top of that to tune from the values given. I used one for a little on my 3kgt and dsm before my supra. Too bad i dunno of that for supras it can be handy to get the basics of tunning, just watching your values change with your adjustments.

It is a ton of work! Def buy one with the box assembled and buy really good automotive harness building stuff. Also plan it out good so you only do it once. I did mine too many times before I got it running right. Also get the stim and make sure everything works right because when I got mine I did not get the stim and didn't find out till after I installe everything that one of the circuits did not work.

But what HP are you tuning for?

Reasoning behind is they didnt want to switch to obd2 but were told they had to so they put a 0bd2 Plug-in under the car, But it was still obd1, Which really sucks when your like " yay its obd2 this is gonna be easy" and you plug it in and nuttin happens lol.

knock timing down to 8 degrees and keep safc ($200) values at -20% or more (closer to zero). Or go maftpro with the ability to see timing for $400.

other wise stand over the motor with a timing gun on a dyno OR get some "ears" and try and pick out the detonation. :D
