You wouldn't have to, but you can if you want to make it a little safer, and get a little bit more power.
i have a tuner.. he mostly does hondas.. but he has done supras before.. he actually had a supra too.. but are u trying to just get better fuel tuning or are u trying to go something like an AEM?... there is another member on here that made about 470 on stock internals but he was using AEM and he was tuned by the guys at "the shop" .. but u at first need to figure out what ur using for management.. whether it be SAFC, AEM, or anything likke that

I heard "the shop" in bridgeport does good work. I think their main tuner is a guy named jr. who supposedly know his stuff. whatever u do, don't go to swift motor sports in norwich!! they installed my turbo kit and attempted to tune my IS300.
It was a nightmare and my car ran like complete shit! I eventually had to bring my ride to PFS in Maryland who is an IS300/2j specialist. Theres also a place in NJ that works on supras:

Definetly hook up with bryan. Also call efi logics in bethal...ask for chris he used to be the tuner for xxtuning. He's a subaru guy but he can tune pretty much everything with an efi system.
