One other thing to look at on the 272's is Im still making power at 6500 when we shut it down due to running lean. Where the OEM cam look to stop making power around 62-6300. Once I get everthing figured out on my end, I plan on making some pulls where the rev limiter is a litter higher ;)

As for the cams, ya it would be nice to tune them in with a dyno. Right now there jsut set according to the cam card.

Now, if Steve and I just owned our own Dyno, we could do any sort of pulls you guys would like to see.

That is a nice power band on the aftermarket cam. The cam is the brains of the engine, for those that don't know.

Thank you!

I also wonder what effect the our intake manifolds / TB have along with Intercooler piping size?

From my experience, ported head and cams really wakes up a 7M. I went from 400rwhp at 17psi stock head and stock ECU, to about 495rwhp at 17psi wth a reworked 7M head and 264 cams (AEM tune). Both on 61mm turbos.

So Rob... wanna trade heads? :naughty:

Na, i dont want to change head gaskets . You don't want mine since the exhaust valves are to large for peak performance ;)

Well thats exactly what i mean, at 6500 The Torque is the same, though with stock cams it does seem to be tapering off when the 272's are consistent.

I think the problem with the comparison is that your not flowing enough air to take full advantage of the cams. The power peaks early and slowly tapers off. I think its because at that boost pressure with that turbo the cam is too much (aggressive) for the motor setup.

With that said, When you gain the ability to turn the boost up to 20-25 or maybe even run a larger turbo and rev it up to 7-7500, I think you'll reap the true HUGE gain over stock cams.

You both should dyno at 15 , 20, and 25 (if possible) psi without changing anything else other then tuning. That would be a nice comparison apples to apples.

My AFR's were crazy inaccurate on the dyno sheet. At 5000 the dyno's wideband said that I was waaaaay above 22:1, but the graph and my wideband gauge tell me it held steady at ~11:1 in boost.

Yep i have heard that I need TONS of flow for these cams.On the stock turbo I lost LOTS of power using these cams. Only made 288 RWHP at 11 lbs on the ct26!!!!! As for me the most (as of thinking right now) will be 20 or so lbs. pump gas only. Maybe if I feel the need to run more, e85 can come into play in order to run more boost.

Also I do plan on spinning the motor up to 7-7.5K. Right now I back to taking "baby steps". This has been the only good thing to come out of the build that has lasted 3 years. I almost lost interest in the supra several times. So this last dyno has put a little fire back into it, but not a ton.

Maybe some day Steve and I will compare on the dyno. But to spend the cash for dyno time for the only reason "to compair #'s at same boost levels to see what cams do" isn't smart money right now ;) But yet a GREAT idea if I were ever trying to sell these cams.
