my starter relay has been acting up, the relay died one day last week.
this is a JZZ30 ecu,1jz, fuel has a manual on/off switch

I tried to roll start it then ran out of hill. so I jacked up the car and jumped the starter. letting it crank for a wile it did not start, then I realized I forgot to turn the key on. So I turn the key and try some more, nothing. I check the CEL and it's not even lighting up like it use to.(to give the ecu OK flash) and none of the injectors are firing. So I let it sit for 20 mins and then the ecu comes back to life and it has been fine for three days till today I did the same thing, forgot to turn key again. now the ecu's not coming back on.
I have the idea that i fried the ecu turning the engine over with out power going to the ecu does that sound like something that could happen?
it did not smell burnt and looks fine.

help me out I miss my car already:1zhelp:

Doesn't sound likely.
Your best bet is to remove the ECU and check to see if anything is burnt up in there.

did, fond a cap that was replaced, poorly. the board under it is pulling up and the solder job is lame sauce. crossing fingers hoping i can do better.

its possible that something went off with the alarm system too when you did that but I would bet its the ecu thing you found. Good luck

It ran great for a month so the wireing was fine.
I am looking for the best place to buy a power fc for a jzz30.
can the alarm system immobilize the car like this or does it just stop the starter?

There are two wires that run the actual horn, yellow/blue, and white white goes to the c1 plug next to the fuse box and yellow blur runs into the dash on the B1 plug, as I am doing my 1jz swap I am going to have it wired up.

checked/bypassed alarm not the problem.
the ecu is fried I need a new one, i bench tested it with a power source and I could not get it to do any thing. powering it up should of allowed the ecu to check for sensors and blink out CEL's.

installed new ecu 1jz is running fine now. it must of been something to do with the roll start that killed the ecu. every time my starter would not crank and I tried to roll start, it made the ecu go dead for 15mins then later I would try again and get lucky with the starter.

Possibly. At this point I would say the ECU isn't your problem, frying ECU's is just a symptom of a bigger problem. Start checking your wiring, something could be shorted and sending too much current through the ECU.

I'm going to try a new battery, my idea is that the battery is shorting out making the charging system spike in amps/volts. Some times the battery dies for no resign then takes a full day to take a charge.

This problem seems totally random (but most likely not). I drove the car to UC last night (45min drive) parked and then checked to see if it would start and got NO cel "OK" flash and no start. so i unplugged the battery, went in to university hospital 6hrs later came out pluged the battery in and was ok for the drive home. Got home turned it off and it started right back up. the only thing different was i did not have the A/C on on the way home and I had the lights on.

Hey,
Check out my old thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98330
It sounds similar.
When it is hot and i try to restart the car quickly, it just doesn't work immediately. A few guys gave some suggestions. It doesn't happen that often to me, only when i drive the car lots. I haven't been driving much in the 90+ heat, so i haven't dealt with it much since June

Problem solved! The signal wire from ecu to alternator was shorting out. This makes the ecu kind of "time out" after you turn off the car. I checked the other ecus I have that where part of the problem, now that they have sat on the shelf for a wile they work again.
