Hey guys I have an 87 turbo that I'm having trouble starting. Most mornings I have to turn the key 15-20 times before it starts and whrn it finally does start I have to pump the gas once for it to full on start. I'm wondering if that's the cold start injector. Once its started it runs great. Thanks

I disabled my CSI, as it was just open all the time, causing it to run pig rich once it started warming up.

It starts a little harder, but nothing like what you're saying.

I checked my cam position sensor and its good, checked my fuel pump relay and Its good, and messed with my tps a little anf its working fine. I have new fuel lines and run premium gas in it so I doubt my unjectors are clogged. I was gonna test my fuel pump by running 12v constant straight to it and see if it works. And what is the CSI? Thanks guys. Oh and it has a translator but now wideban or whatever it is

Is it cranking for a long time or are you turning the key a bunch of times until the starter actually starts working?

I turn the key to the on position to give time for thr fuel pump to kick on if it is kicking on, then I turn the key and let it crank. You can heesr it trying to start and you hear it catching but it doesn't start. I do that a few times then pump the throttle and it starts.

I also found out that the fuel pump may not have been changed over when the engine was swapped to a turbo. Coukd running a 7mge fuel pump on a 7mgte cause problems

Shouldn't be a problem.

Also the fuel pump won't get power until the car is cranking.

Like others have said you might have an issue with the cold start injector or its time switch.

The CSI is energized off the starter circuit, so it cannot be on during normal driving. It can leak however.
