any specific reasons why you dislike the log styles? are there any benefits of the tubular over the log?

sry i didnt get back sooner with the link but looks like some others have already covered it.

The supra one they make isnt a log manifold, he was refering to the E36 model, and they dont flow well at all.

Shaeff, Ill have to pm you about turboing your E36 I have another buddy who is considering it himself, without buying a whole kit.

I"m Surely not the leading expert on the sumject but have read alot of turbo books and many recomend cast manifolds over tublar , when they are available, somthing about heat retention ... exhuast energy .... and whatnot
They also said that in most cases they are more duarable. Does anybody happen to know if that maniold will clear a gt35r on it .. I know hks says it will support upto either a t-61 or t-66 but im not sure of of the size diffrence between those and a GT35R?

Ceramic coating inside and out on the tubular manifold will retain all the heat/exhaust gas velocity you want.

In most cases, people slap on a crappy eBay manifold without properly reinforcing it, and it breaks. Grab an authentic Greddy manifold (the one SSAC copied), and you won't have any issues. ;)

Now that we're past that, you'll get better spool with the tubular manifold. :)

I come from a land down under
The preference for a cast Header goes back to the old days when Turbo headers were thin wall pipe the same as NA headers, Cast retained heat and sounded better (didn't "ring")

These days most tubulars are 3mm wall so it's no longer an issue.

That's pretty sweet. :) I <3 the sound of a good tubular turbo manifold/header.

Wish I had seen this when I put my gt35r on my car. The tubular had some real clearance issues with the t04s housing on mine. Took a bit of fabrication to get it to clear the tubing and the shock tower. The oil drain on the turbo is not made for top mount and I had to go to pretty much trouble to get it to work at all. As it is, the drain has worked loose a couple of times and I have to take the turbo off to tighten it back up.

Btw, the short runner will spool a bit quicker than the tubular, as I went to the tubular from a Cartech cast manifold, and the diference was obvious. Alas the cartech cracked and fell apart, which has not been an issue with my egay tubular.

That looks just like the one that PHR makes for our cars that is a direct replica of the HKS short runner. This is a really good manifold, however you will need to put a riser on it to fit a big turbo, then it ends up looking like you have a tubular manifold with the way that the turbo sits. You can't fit a TO4S cover on this manifold, I've seen it several times tried and you have to fit an adapter. But this thing is a real sleeper if you get a turbo with the TO4E housing on it. People look at the cast manifold and smaller turbo and think you are pretty much stock, with a small upgraded turbo.

From what i understand, the SSAC or copy mani's have improved over the pasat 5 years or so and cracking is no longer an issue. Can't be sure of course as i don't own one anymore but i do recall several threads regarding the issue.
