I agree a front strut bar is pointless, but is a rear strut bar also useless?

As for a rear strut bar, yep, we've got double wishbone front and rear suspension. There is little, if any lateral force generated by the movement of the suspension, unlike a Macdoodlewobbly (that term coined by IJ. LOL!) suspension, where it uses the strut tower as part of the setup.
(This is why you'll rarely ever see a an e36 M3 track car without front and rear strut bars, as it DOES make a difference on them.)

What is one to believe after reading such conflicting points on whether front and/or rear strut bars are needed!!?!!

CordiaDOHC;1293997 said:I disagree. I get far less targa wobble with the strut tower brace. Lets face it it these cars arent exactly the stiffest things around they flex almost any place you could think of. Additional bracing is a good idea. Though I will agrees sway bars are definitely needed!
CordiaDOHC;1295837 said:If someone has a small enough camera do what one of the camaro guys did and place a camera under the hood while driving. You could actually watch some of the flex. The firewall flex has already had a video posted on here. On my camaro I had an edelbrock 3 point stb along with a front frame rail support (iroc wonder bar) and the thing squeaked a hell of a lot less and it was a ttop car. also was less likely in hard turns to want to twist with the ttops off (you could actually watch it without the bracing) You guys can think placebo but The supra did squeak less with the 2 point bar in place. Handling doesnt feel changed at all. But anything to make these things flex less wouldnt be a bad idea. lol dont believe me take off the targa and drive down the road while watching the A and B pillars. Thats a good amount of movement.

Also, you're comparing apples to oranges as it sounds like you had a 3rd gen f-body, and they use a mcpherson strut setup, not a double A-arm setup like ours.

One word, as already pointed out: MacNoodlewobbly (Thank you, IJ. LOL!) It's like comparing apples to a bulldozer.CordiaDOHC;1295837 said:If someone has a small enough camera do what one of the camaro guys did and place a camera under the hood while driving.
