IJ: What is that head from that you're showing in post #18? That seems like yet another different cut, with some pretty nice polishing work.

Interesting. Where is the number stamped on the head? I have one in the shop that I know is 89+ by how the divider is in the runners, but would like to know more about it.

There was still a 7m in 93? I thought that was the first year for the 2jz series.

This is a stock head and a group a head. I am not posting the link. It has just enough info to get somebody into trouble.

The author calls the stock head a TRD head. It isn't. TRD never did that. Back in the late 80's, TRD sold parts of aftermarket companies like HKS.

I know where that head is at.

I can't see the whole head from the pic's, but given what I can see, I'd stand by my earlier post.
I doubt very much that it's anything other than a stock casting with CNC'd combustion chambers and fitted with aftermarket valves.

I like the shape of the chambers over stock. It would be interesting to see the flow numbers compared to stock heads.

Ditto I'm guessing the quenchpads in the stock chamber are an emissions thing and aren't helping.

Just been looking at my cutaway head pics and there's plenty of meat in that area.

Hasn't anybody seen the "New" hemi head from Mercedes, or should I say Chrysler? They did the same as the 7M, with a less hemispherical chamber, and more quench.

Quench helps with the mixture, but those edges could cause hotspots.

I'd be interested to see what the difference in pistons is, as I have a feeling it's also a part of the puzzle...
