Transmission Question

Im planning on buying a 1jz to install in my 87 na-t, but i want to know. Would it be better to buy one that has the tranny and the motor or can I hook up my w-58 tranny to the 1jz?

i think you can hook up a w58 with a 2jz na 5 speed bellhousing

You can hook up the w58 but you will be limited with HP because the w58 can't handle more than 300

I am running a W58 with my 1JZGTE, but then again I am only 270whp.

Like he said, you need a 2JZGE bellhousing. SC300 and MkIV N/A used these.....

ive heard no more than 400hp. the w58 is an awesome transmission, imo it shifts smoother than a r154
