I had an idea to make installing my transmission alot easier. Since it's such a huge pain to bolt up the top bolt on the starter... I figured just welding the nuts to the starter, Then all i have to do it screw them in rather than trying to get a wrench on the back side of the nut to tighten it down. I thought maybe welding on the starter, Might ruin it.

well, that's why i would get a alluminum nut from a hardware store that matches the threads. If i do that, would it be ok? it wouldn't kill the starter, would it?

I don't think it would if thats the case. Is there any reason why you couldn't just get a tap, and a slightly larger bolt and tap the starter holes and maybe drill out the bellhousing hole? Thats the way it is on my 2JZ.

If you could find aluminum nuts, it would work. Just a little weld on each side of the nut would be enough to secure it.

91+ starters are threaded though.
