I swapped in a R154 into my 87 non turbo supra when i did my turbo swap.. but the bolts on the transmission crossmember dont line up to the stock holes? The mechanic that did the swap modified it to fit.. but there is a really bad vibration now and I think this is the problem.

Is there different transmission crossmembers? From what I hear all of them are the same. Any ideas what this could be?

Is it possible that there is only one set of holes made for it to bolt up with the w58 on my pre-89 n/a?

It shouldnt be...it should mount right up. we put an 90T into an 87 NA, and no problems.

Well wouldnt you use (common sense) the R154 cross member and not the W58?
I would assume its logical to use the member that came with the transmission. Cause are not all the Ma70 Chassis the same?

W58 and Auto crossmembers are very different so I'd assume the 154 uses the same cross member as the auto as they share the same slip yokes.

Looks like the Auto tranny brace is different from the R154 too.

Thanks for the help guys. I went and picked up an 89 crossmember off a r154. Its just toyota told me the cross member from 86-88 worked on both turbo and non-turbo.. and the 89-92 was different and worked on the turbo and non-turbo.. So I guess we will see if this one works.

Also.. The spline on the turbo driveshaft does not go all the way on the yoke.. there's a gap between the two "cups".. Im not sure why either..

I have several cross members they have arrows imprinted on them and "A" or "B" or "C" on them my brother is having a problem going from automatic post 89 to manuel W58 on his 7MGE motor he is having a difficult time lineing the cross member holes up i guess it is at least 1" off.
