i have a 87 supra with a 7mgte and i blew up my trans over this past(thankfully i had another one kicking around) now i was throwing around the idea of doing a tranny from a 2j supra i was wondering if anyone has done it and if so how hard is it to do and if there would be any other alternatives. oh and i want to keep a manuel a dont want a auto

No that is the turbo 5 speed manual off of the the 7mgte. Good tranny...you can get them for around 500(thats what I have seen them going for lately)

1st - Do you even know what manual tranny you already have? Is it a W58 (NA Supra) or an R154 (Turbo model)?

2nd - How much power do you "think" you will be putting down? The R154 can handle it until you are well into the 500 HP range.
3rd - You need to search...this subject has been beat to death. And the 2JZ tranny (V160) is not a bolt on for the MkIII...period.

well right now i think i am putting down about 300 and i have the r154 but i hope to be putting down close to 700 when all said and done but that is not going to happen till a few years from now. but i allready ripped threw one this past summer because a am at the track every week so if there is any helpful up grades i would appreciate it
