Trans problem in my ford ranger

Hey guys
i recently changed a clutch on a for ranger, i am having some grinding going on only on higher rpm's, could that be because ?

I used transmission fluid and not gear oil ???? i did not replace also pilot bearing it looked ok to me

What year Ranger? Do some research on the ranger forums, but there's a common issues with a certain ranger tranny (forget what year) that tends to leak oil and grenade itself. It begins with grinding then it's all downhill from there.

Let me see if I can find it in my bookmarks. My dad had a '95.
