tranny problem.

hello ppl? i have a question my 91 supra was automatic and the last owner change the tranny for a manual tranny and know my slave cylinder is fuck up so i wanna know how i know which tranny i have if w58 or r154? or there use the same slaves cylinders?

The slave cylinders of those two trannys are far from the same.


Here is an R154. Notice the inspection holes in the side of the bellhousing.

Easiest way to tell the different is if the tranny has an inspection plate it's got an r154. If not... It's a w-58.

R154 = Pull-out clutch iirc.

True, just jack up your car and look at the slave cylinder. If it looks like the one in the picture then its a R154, slave cylinder bolts face the from the of the car. If it has a slave cylinder with 2 bolts on the top holding it to the bell housing going towards the passenger side then its a w58.
