More concern in the fact the trans is 220mm wide back at the extension housing and the Supra tunnel is 210mm at the same point... 
Not to mention sorting out a mechanical speedo drive as there are only a few non OEM 56's that come with one the rest are Hall Sensor.

Here's a shot from V8 Archie (The Fiero gent). He's tearing apart a brand new Pontiac Solstice with the aim of putting together V8 conversion kits. Take a look at the Ecotec hooked up to the MA5 tranny. What got my attention was the extension on the shifter. Wonder if that would work on an R154...
