TPS Adjustment

so my cars ben having a starting/idle problem for about a week now at first it was idleing to high and would stall if i reved it. so i checked the codes and pull a 41 so i got a mutimeter and check the resistance and it was way out of range. so i pulled the tb and reajusted it to within specs. then i reinstalled the tb and started it well it turns over but just wont start without a little help from the gas pedal then it idles a about 550 to 600 then out of no where it will jump to 1100 and hold there then jump back down the hole time the engine was shaking like a washing machine. I went to the exhaust to to look for smoke but there was non and then i smelt the gas it was like liquid gas coming out the exhaust pipe. I check my codes but there was none. So anyway my question is would the tps make these symtoms or mabye more liking cold start.
sry for the speech i just want to give as much background as possible
by the way i am currently runing a stock 7mgte setup.

TPS is not properly installed, zero'd, or its faulty

they are very very sensitive to small adjustments

might help, but check your CSI plug if its in, because mine tends to fall out and calls for a shitty start up in the morning.

well when i went to ajust it i was miticulous about ajusting it but i could not get the resistance at full throttle that is specified but all my others were in spec is the tps bad or need more ajustment and would that cause fuel to not be burnt

also i loosend the screw opened the throttle and tryed to get it in range but i couldnt it was only hiting lik 3.0k

One of us is confused. Why would you be trying to adjust the TPS to solve a code 41? Not gonna happen.

well i talked to a guy in town who said that its most likely just bad so im going to get a new one. What is the best way to ajust it andbody have some special technics.

Appears I wasted my time writing all that TPS crap in the SME section.

Your guy is correct. Code 41 results from an open or short in the VTA portion of the TPS, which cannot be resolved by adjustment. You're confusing it with code 51 which *can* be corrected by adjustment. Bottom line is either your TPS (or wiring) is bad and adjusting it won't help. I suggest you verify which is the problem before spending money.

The best way to adjust a new one is by the book.

sry for making you repeat stuff i just have trouble finding the information. wheres the sme section? is there somthing that im not seeing? i always just tryed to search for info but i always came back with people asking differnt questions.
