pink is 100,000 miles coolant and red is 30k coolant. if you mix red 50/50 it is still red where as the pink is actually a bright pink and in all new cars.

the second link is very informative but as other have stated that Toyota pink is just 50/50 Toyota red it is completely wrong. Toyota pink and red are 2 different coolants. i dont know the exact compounds of them but i worked at Toyota long enough to know that you dont drain the pink coolant till 100k and that Toyota doesn't want you mixing pink with red. the pink might be 50/50 but i cant remember but i do know that the red is not and even when you mix 1gal of red with 1 gal of water it is still red. iirc(dont have a clue) i thought i remember jetjock saying that the red was better than the pink but i cant say for sure.

Lol, it's the coolant thing again. I'm not going to get into this except to say Zerex recently introduced a new coolant for Asian vehicles:

http://www.valvoline.com/products/brands/zerex/antifreeze/105

It's a silicate-free phosphate HOAT, the same chemistry as OEM pink. It's the first (and currently only) non-OEM phosphate HOAT coolant available in the USA. You may want to think about why no coolant manufacturer ever bothered to make something like this before, why there's only one now, and what that tells you about coolant use in general. You may also want to think about marketing.

Only comes in premixed though. Premixed coolants are quite the scam but hey, it's your money...

I vote stay away from Toyota Super Long Life "Pink" coolant. Pink seems to be harder on the seals in the cooling system, but that's my opinion.
Stick with Toyota Red (Long Life) is what I would suggest. It's a bit more spendy, but it is a very good coolant. There are better coolant chemistries out there, but I would refer you to Jdub for those details.

Hyvman- There is a pink coolant that has the red chemistry, but afaik it is not available for consumers to purchase in the US. IJ had used pink in his 7M, but I think the Aus people have access to the special (pink colored/red chemical) stuff.
There are 3 toyota coolants that I know of:
Red Long Life
Pink Long Life (red chemistry, pink color. may be available non-premixed)
Pink with Super Long life (only available pre-mixed)

This is what i'm sticking in once I put the engine back together, Zerex G-05.

Although, according to valvoline's website, the details state "Low-silicate, low-pH and phosphate-free formula" which I'm assuming is a marketing error considering below 7 is acidic and a low ph in my mind means heavily acidic.

Most what people said is correct about long life and super long life, i would just use red unless your really lazy and dont want to mix it or change it every 30k miles. From what i have heard you can mix them with no problems, obviously toyota doesnt want you to add red coolent to a car with pink because it would make having pink pointless because with red in the system you would have to change it at 30k. I dont see why pink coolent would be harder on the seals, they use it on all the new cars and im sure reliability was toyotas main concern when designing the coolent.

No one in my town carries Zerex.. Toyota wanted $28 for a gallon of their red coolant. I went to to Mercedes and got their HOAT orange coolant for $17. HTF is Toyota going to charge more for coolant than Mercedes?
