i agree with bigarron, leave it alone or take it away to pm's. this thread is not for fighting.

as far as the jl setup, id like to hear that.

i run 2x10" rockford fosgate punch xlc and a pos lighting audio amp. pioneer head unit and love it.

ZM br nice kit. Make sure that the amp gets sent because whan mine got sent they didn't send it. It got put on a shelf for ever. Then I had to have them track it down but it was in the shop the hole time:3d_frown: So insted they gave me a new e1200.

wow. those guys are retarded. i was supposed to get a call on monday. but, when i decided to get the amp kit, i asked about my amp, and that's when they told me that it has been mailed off. you'd think they would have called me to see if i wanted it sent away or something.

I got another view that I am sure will stir up some disagreement:

Put the $170 into an upgraded alternator rather then a stiffening cap. You will not be able to tell much difference in sound from the cap. Newer amplifiers have plenty of capacitance built in to handle their rated output power. If the cap helps noticeably, you have too small gauge power cable or too small of a battery and/or alternator. The headlights dim from the alternator voltage dropping because the current draw is higher then the alternators output capability, so the voltage drops down to the battery's voltage (~14v down to ~12v). The cap will help a little but it still charges from the alternator so once the cap is discharged (which happens quickly) the lights will still dim. Also, going with an upgraded battery can help. Optima batteries have more capacitance then a standard battery so they charge quicker and then can also handle more load with less voltage drop then a standard battery.

Eh if your soop is on a diet i dont think its gonna want to eat a 12 inch sub and an amp. If you looked, you would see supras equipped with 6 speakers (such as my soop) 2 of the 4 inchers are considered bass speakers or subs. So yeah, The aim is to go fast not be loud. I'd pick one up if i were in the audio stage but i got better things to do. Just ordered 2 pairs of 4" audiobahns ftw Lightweight baby

Yes, I plan on replacing the alternator and battery in the supra. besides, i don't plan on having a huge wattage output in the scion like i do in the supra. caps are overhyped, IMO, but whatever, i bought it anyway.

i agree with the alternator thing. i think stiffening caps are still a good idea but a good alternator and battery should be first. i just relocated my battery to the trunk, it's a redtop optima running 0-gauge wire straight to the alternator and starter. i also got a 100amp alternator for the mr2 to fit. you need to use a 89+ pulley otherwise it doesn't fit on the mr2 alternator's shaft. alternator came from autozone too so it has a lifetime warranty. stiffening caps are usually only needed with multiple subwoofers, or lots of power.

if you're relocating your battery i'm sure 4-gauge would be sufficient, i had the 0 there from a previous large car audio install so i thought i'd just keep it there and use it to run power to the front of the car.
