I had a 89 turbo that I BHG. I towed it on a dolly with the drivehshaft and front bumper pulled 455 miles with a 2wd F-150 and 300ci I6 on the bumper. It did it just fine. I had the truck since new and trusted it. The frane was solid and no rust anywhere. High grade bolts held the bumper on. Went through the hills of northern PA too.

And I chained the breaaway chains to the frame of the truck not the bumper just to be safe.

Edit:if its a auto pull the shaft. Sticks lubricate exactly the same way no matter which shaft drives it. I would pull personally just to be safe but thats just me. Mechanically its fine.

No, it was an R154 car that exploded. Also, it will NOT be lubricated the same as the input shaft isn't spinning the gear pack.

This.

Correct me if I am wrong but if it is in neutral doesn't this mean the gears are not turning the way they should? Meaning, you don't have the correct oiling getting to the gears?

Correct. Some cars do fine either stock or modified. Saturns were made to be towed and were popular vehicles to tow with an RV. Jeeps or other 4x4 are also used with a rear locking hub conversion (so you can unlock the rear wheels from the axle just like the front).

If you have the front tires up on a trailer the gear lube in the tranny is also pooling at the back which will cause issues too (same issue that you get with old motorcycles if the owner liked to wheelie a lot).

thanks for all the help especially the pics.i was thinking about the towbar idea and i really like it,but i keep thinking about the breaking issue, so i thought about why dont i :aigo::1zhelp:just sit in the supra that way i can at least steer the car to make it easier.i could use the breaks in the supra to help slow it down quicker. what do you guys think
