Ok folks, here it begins all over again for year 11. The summer meet for 2006 planning is underway. The theme this year is supras in motion...not that all of ours are up to it yet...Plan to drive. This meet will be centred in Toronto again, but we will be hitting the roads to get away from the traffic, and drive some of the twistiest roads from Niagara to possibly as far as Wasaga Beach.

The dates are firmly set: August 18th to 20. Stay tuned for futher info here, or at www.torontosupraclub.com.

Looking forward to it. Have been going through Supra withdrawal not having it for the last couple of years. Broken foot should be mended by then too. Hopefully should have a couple of supras coming up from Windsor and any Michigan drivers that want to caravan up.

Ok...the info you've all been waiting for is finally ready. The meet schedule/itinerary is finally ready and here it is:

Friday Itinerary:

1:00pm – 2:00pm Meet 'n Greet at Tim Horton’s – Hiway 55 & QEW

From here the weekend begins. This Highway rest-stop near Niagara on the Lake has a large enough parking lot to allow us to be in one central area. There are also plenty of fast food restaurants in the area so you can fuel up your belly before our cruise.

2:00pm – 5:00pm …Cruise through Niagara on the Lake
Pretty self-explanatory…if you need clarification please see your family doctor. Bring your Digi-cam as you’ll be driving through one of the most beautiful regions of Southern Ontario.

5:00pm – 6:00pm…Meet’n Greet Part II at Wendy’s in Stoney Creek
If you couldn’t make our cruise and want to ride with the pack to Cayuga this is where to meet us. You might want to grab some more grub unless you really like track food.

6:00pm – 7:00pm…Cruise to Cayuga
It shouldn’t take us an hour but the track opens at 7pm so can’t race earlier than that.

7:00pm – 11:00pm Draaaag Racing at Cayuga
Steve has been doing the Indian Rain Dance religiously on the 18th of every month since last year so hopefully we don’t get rained out again. Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest Supra will be handed out at dinner on Saturday. Please give your fastest time slip to anyone on the exec committee. If you are not present to pick up your trophy on Saturday night you will forfeit and the prize will go to the next person in line…NO EXCEPTIONS!!

11:00pm – Zzzzz Cruise back to Toronto
For those that want to brag about how fast their car is… or how fast it will be next year… there is a Tim Horton’s near the track… for all the others we will be cruising back to our resting-places. We have an EARLY start on Saturday!

Saturday Itinerary

8:00am – 9:30am Breakfast at Denny’s

Meet up at Denny’s. If you want to have breakfast be sure to get there early as we will be leaving at 9:30 sharp! Eat quick! If you’re not into breakfast be sure to be here at 9:30am if you want to cruise with the pack to Burlington.

9:30am – 10:30am……. Mini-Cruise to Main Cruise Starting Point in Burlington
We said that this will be a cruising meet and we meant it…this mornings cruise starts in Burlington at the corner of Walkers Line and Dundas

10:30am – 1:00pm …….Cruise to Hockley Valley/Orangeville
This cruise will take us from the Burlington area to the beautiful resort town of Hockley Valley in central Ontario. You guys asked for more cruising out of the hustle and bustle of the city and you got it.

1:00pm – 4:30pm …..Lunch and Show and Shine at East Side Mario’s in Orangeville
After our little cruise to HockleyValley we’re sure you’re going to want to fill your belly; gas tank and empty the bladder. We have lunch and a show and shine planned at the East Side Mario’s in Orangeville. Ballots will be given out for you to vote for the best of class MK2/3/4. Trophies for best of class and longest distance drive will be given away here too. Top 3 Fastest Supra Trophies will be given away at Dinner.

4:30pm – 7:00pm….Cruise to Haugen’s Chicken & BBQ in Port Perry
Another sweet cruise through Central Ontario to the small town of Port Perry where will Dine on some fine BBQ Chicken at Haugen’s. Make sure you gas up before we leave it’s very difficult to manage fuel stops while cruising.

7:00pm – ????......Dinner and more Show and Shining at Haugen’s Chicken & BBQ
The day wraps up with some fine Chicken at Haugen’s in Port Perry. We’ll be handing out the drag trophies here so if you think you’re a winner you need to be here to get your trophy. The night doesn’t need to end here; from here were are just 30-45mins from Toronto so if there’s something you guys want to do let us know.

Sunday Itinerary:

08:30am – 10:30am……Breakfast at Denny’s

Meet up at Denny’s for a nice hearty breakfast. Those of you who stayed up late on Saturday to party it up can sit this out…we won’t get mad. If you want to cruise with us please ensure that you are in the Denny’s parking lot by 10:30am or you’re playing catch up.

10:30am – 11:30am….Grocery Shopping
Yes, you read this correct we are going grocery shopping. Why are we grocery shopping you ask? Read the next couple items and you’ll see. For those of you who are not coming to Denny’s please ensure you get this step done.

11:30am – 12:30pm……Cruise to Bob Shapton's Property

12:30pm - ????......Supra Family Picnic at Bob Shapton’s Property
Toronto Supra Club Member Bob Shapton has graciously offered his property to us again. Bob is going to clear a section of his property to allow all our cars in so we can have a nice quiet private picnic. This is a bring your own food/beverages picnic so be sure to do some grocery shopping with us before the cruise up. Bring some lawn chair; sunscreen; blankets whatever you need to make yourself comfortable. Over the years people have commented on how much they love the relaxed atmosphere of the Shapton Escape after a busy weekend of driving.

Events afterwards are up in the air; people who attended last years meet who stayed late were lucky enough to do a run or two near the Toronto Zoo. Ask anyone who was there and they will tell you that it was the best Night Cruising they have ever done…this is always an option for this year too. Unfortunately having 6 Supra’s stay over my (George’s) house this year will not be an option….too bad…we had so much fun last year.
