OK guys Rookie here. I am taking off the head off an old motor, tio keep as a spare for our 24 hours of Lemons car. But i am stumped as to what tool to use to pull of the headbolts. it looks like it is a stud wirth a standard allen head, with a 12 point nut that needs to come off down below? my spline sockets wont fit on - they are to stubby, do you use a deep well spline socket ? is their such a thing - if so, harbor freight or where?

It's just a standard bolt with a metric Allen head. No 12 point nut... unless you are looking at something with ARP head studs already installed, in which case you need a 12 point thin wall deep socket for the nut, and you can remove the stud itself using an Allen key.

Thanks for the help,
It must have ARP studs installed, as it has the allen heads on top of the studs, and a 12 point nut down lower! I did rotate the cam so the little cutouts give access to the nuts, I'll go after it with a deep well 12 point today - thanks guys
