WadeT, you will never ever please everyone and Ken knows this, but you did word it respectfully so I'll word mine respectfully...........ARE YOU BLIND!!!

Just kidding. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but as Scott said you will definately be in the minority on this one. If Ken had painted it blue, it would probably be the best looking supra in the world, but since he didn't he will have to settle for a better than average looking supra............

Looking great Ken, and you can really tell how much extra work that you put into it............

I needed a buddy like that.....this job just about broke my spirit......I was about to part it out I was so frustrated at times. Your paint is looking awesome too, now paint that tail red;)

my buddy has gotten frustrated himself... but the car is looking great...

should be done tommorrow and then bolted on sunday/monday....

I got all the molding done but two pieces.... got the one piece in the mail yesterday so it will be getting painted tom. with the wing also....

headlight covers, molding, and mirrors are painted and on the car.....
quarter glass trim, and door trim that goes on top of door sets against the glass is on...... should recieve the grilles and passeger side door vent soon and have it on... if everything goes right i should be able to post a pretty much complete car pic monday or tuesday... its looking good... its hard to take some pics because sometimes in certain light it brings out a little orangish color in pics .... but so do all supras that are painted back the factory red....

you car is looking awesome.. Ken hurry up and get it finished....:icon_razz

Jay.....thanks, I guess you know a little about putting the extra work in too;) I have caught myself going too far with things, but then I'm glad I did. I def don't expect everyone would like it, nor do I care. Show up at a meet.....go for a ride....pretty sure you'll like it! ( still bummed it wasn't ready when you guys were up here.)

If Vonda says it looks good, that's good enough for me....thanks V.

Other Ken....same name.....both Red......both painted at the same time...I think we might get along:biglaugh: I can't wait to see yours done too, it's looking good already! Pictures taken in sunlight look fantastic, alot of them in lighting bring the orange. Most of these pictures taken in the garage don't look so hot, but I'm going to get it out and get some nice ones when I'm finished.

I called about my moldings today and tried to light a fire.....just couldn't stay quiet any more. Wheels still on B/O:( Going to do a little sand and buff this weekend I think.

Ken's phone call to wheel company: B/O blows big time. I want the wheels now damnit!!!!!!! Who do I have to sleep with to get some service around here?

That should get the wheels on their way Ken, and I wouldn't put too much stock in Vonda's ability to spot perfection..........she did after all pick me.

So, this is the part where you've cornered me into saying either my car is ugly, or you're sexy:biglaugh:

They say love is blind.....I win:rofl:

Still a couple weeks on the wheels:(

Maybe a minority in this group, I just don't understand the concept of putting a bunch of plastic stuff(being nice) on a car that looks perfectly fine stock. But, I like a clean sleeper look. Again, the pics were put out there for feedback so I gave mine.:p

Sleeper is not for everyone...

Stock gets lost in the crowd...

Tasteful body mods look great, and in his case are functional since the front end will let in more air to the IC and everything behind it. The rest compliments it as doing just the front would look a little odd.

IIRC I think his front bumper was messed up a long time ago so he got an aftermarket...

the opposite of stock is "moddified" and in no way automatically qualifies as rice. To each his own, thats the beauty of a free society.

did you order new moldings or is just a shop painting them..... I hate when shops do work seems like it takes them forever.... thats why im glad ive got a buddy thats good at it and been to school for it.. before i knew him i had a car painted and it took me over a month to get it back....

cant wait to see your car done.......:biglaugh:

well the wing was painted and cleared today along with a piece of molding that i was missing that i got in....... hopefully will be ready to bolt on monday.... now i need to get the rest of trim on and then weve got to start wet sanding and buffing the car.. but ill get some pics as soon as i get the wing bolted on

I doubt your car is 100% showroom stock, so please sit down...
Negative. Most of my cars are modded yes. 180 from stock would be a "show car", IMO. We all know what those are right?

They are getting painted at a shop......I should have just done it myself....I told them if they can't be done next week I will do them myself.

Wade.....I disagree that the opposite of stock would be rice, that's a bit drastic, and you would be the first to tell me my car would be rice......I don't think it is. I have seen some rice cars that I would be embarrased to be seen in and I would rather gouge my eyes out than see that in my garage. I agree with e Pete, the opposite of stock would be modified. I can understand if it's not to your taste though, there are also plenty of cars on here I think are badass, but there are things about them I just wouldn't have on my car because I don't like it. I appreciate the coolness of a sleeper car myself, but I realized I passed that up a while back. I didn't build it to drag around on a trailer from show to show either......but I COULD:) I dont want it to be a show car or a dyno queen, or a rice rocket , or any of that. I want to drive it around in the spring/summer/and fall with the top off, take it down to the strip whoop some old muscle cars, and be able to swipe a trophy at the local meets;)

I agree with you Ken, these cars are meant to be driven. 220k on mine btw. I'm impressed with your attention to detail and you choice of changes from stock. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Hopefully tx2k8

Ken, you win!!!!! Your car is looking awesome too. I can't believe I actually like a red supra. I couldn't stand the way George's looked, but he refuses to paint it blue...............:biglaugh:

My black one is well into the 240's:)

I don't know if I will ever make it as far as Texas, but that is one I would love to go to!!

Jay....I can like most of the colors....even some colors I really dislike people on here have made worth looking at....never really disliked blue, I owned a blue MK2, and almost bought a dark blue for my first MK3.
