My first ride in a turbo was a black 87 targa 5 speed, and I was shopping for my first Supra. I gave it some throttle, and thought, " hmm. That's nice I guess". I think the car was only making like 3 psi, so it was nothing impressive, so I figured if that's as fast as the turbos are, I'll just take an NA and save some money. I didn't ride again in a turbo Supra till I did my swap 9 years later. I drove it home from the fabricators(made my IC piping) with no o2 sensor, so again had no power, and I'm thinking, "well I hope this gets better". When I put in the sensor, and cleared the codes, I was like -" Holy Shit!"

My buddy's wife (7 1/2 months pregnant) wanted a ride in my car last night, since she had never riden in a turbo car, and my car for that matter. Naturally, I agreed to go for this little drive.

Well I decided to just go around the block. So, I pulled out of the street and got on it through first, most of second, and let it die down in third. As soon as I shifted into third though, my friend's girl let out and uncomfortable "oww". lol The baby had kicked. As far as I could tell, he liked it lol.

I am working on it. Not as fast as I would like but still....
Still need to study your motor to get a better mental image of how things are suposed to be done. May be dropping the engine in this weekend.

My first ride in a turbo car was in an S13 Silvia actually, owned by my bro. It was pretty nice but didnt have much boost due to 'issues'... he fixed em tho and then it was nuts but he sold it before I could have a ride in it again :(
My first ride in a turbo supra though was a freind's MkII with a 1J in it - dam that thing flew! :D

Inspired me to do a turbo conversion on my NA (which I'll hopefully get to drive this weekend :D) which will be the first time I've driven a turbo car... cant wait :D

My friend had owned two turbo DSM's a lazer and an eclipse. Rode in both, but at stock boost they aren't that entertaining...

When I went for the testdrive and even after I bought my supra I barely boosted. It wasn't until a week later when I really reved it out racing an RX7 that I was hooked.

I've been only in N/A Supras even 1995 Black Supra N/A 5 Speed. It was pretty quick compared to MKIII.
But my 1st experience was about 5 months ago when my buddy gave me a ride in his Evo-8, that was a sweet ride and the turbo just took over.

I owned three N/A Supras:
1987 White Auto
1989 Red 5 speed
1989 Red Auto

Now I own 1990 Turbo which I CAN'T WAIT to drive... waiting for the re-build... See my sig ;)

On my second turbo supra now. Is there any other kind? I think I have about $20k between the two. And they say crack is addictive....HA!

I dare say I've never been too impressed with 'boost'. It might be because the

My first experience was in the passenger seat of a R33 GTS-T skyline pulling in about 300HP. Even at full throttle down a highway on ramp, I didn’t feel any of these feelings that the OP described. It was rather disappointing.

I then drove my dad’s hire car last week, a Vaxuhall Vectra Sri that came boosted from the factory to about 200hp. Granted not a very quick car, but I still didn’t expect the Turbo to be completely linier. I felt nothing special, no slam back into the seat, no cold chills, not even a smile on my face.

Even to this day I’m still wondering what all the hype is about, although with a bit of luck we’ll have a TT Soarer parked outside tonight, and maybe then, I can find out the true meaning of boost :naughty:.
