ok so a small update. i finally ordered my lightweight flywheel and stuff so that should be coming in. also i ordered some interesting colors to powdercoat some parts. i decided to change up the color scheme on my engine bay so here is just a small hint of what is to follow. now i know some will like it but most will hate it but i couldn't care less; its MY car haha. here we go:

p1501145_2.jpg

p1501145_3.jpg

The turbo is a holset hx40 so it will be enough to reach my temp power goal of 600whp. its a t4 divided flange and its brand new! so my ffim and new rims will be the same color so we will see how this "wild scheme" will work!

thanks all for the great comments! yeah jake we can get your wheel done. i have the whole oven and powdercoat system set up and ready to go. in fact i am powdercoating more parts tonight! both mine and dominics for his boosted v6 motor im building for his mr2. i still need to powdercoat my wastegate, ffim, oil pan, fuel rail, valve covers and some other small things. might even powdercoat my lug nuts haha.

ok so another small update. i was going around thinking about how i was going to work out the oil return line for the oil pan. normally one would just get the $35 adapter from driftmotion, but it has a small hole for the return so i decided to try something different. i went to lopers and got a 3/4 to 1/2 an fitting. i went to ace hardware to get a 3/4 tap and tapped my oil pan hole after drilling it out. so i just screwed in the an fitting and if fir perfectly! it has a large diameter hole so the oil flow will be much better and it works out perfect with my other an lines! here are some pics of the oil pan.

old:

with some color and cleaned up pickup tube:

an fitting installed:

and the hole i tapped:

so thats that for now. i decided im going to have the upper oil pan and valve covers are going to be red. the turbo, lower oil pan, intake, and pulleys are going to be green. some other parts will be black. we will see how this turns out but im hoping it looks good by the time im done.

So, after all this attention to detail, planning, and staged performance improvement, you're still sticking to the OEM cheesy ill performing power steering tube cooler setup? An oversight, or just "lazy" in addressing this particular feature?

well i got some new things. got some 550's so i can start out at higher boost. also got some ST front and rear anti sway bars for the poopra with poly mounts i paint matched to my bay. should help out a bit. got the new bellhousing bolted up on the tranny. Mounted up the turbo. my oil drain an fitting on the turbo is hitting the flange just slightly so i cant put it where i want. its just a millimeter or so in the way so ill grind the turbo just a tiny amount. my throttle body also perfectly touches the hot side housing so im not sure if im going to able to get an ic pipe to it. need to put on my new hg but need funds to get arp's and machine it. but i may just be able to get this thing on the road this month.

I just took some pics a couple mins ago. here are some of the turbo, manifold, oil lines, and wastegate mounted. if you look closely, you can see how big the turbo is as it just clears the stock throttle body. i may have to either get a smaller throttle body or get my 2jzgte ffim welded to my extra ge lower runners and have it flow tested over at Forced Air Tech. we'll see how funds go. On to the pics!

ks racing/q45 throttle body/beech perfomance tps adapter for said throttle body/battery relocation=golden. No more heat soak!

What are you doing about the ac delete as far as the belt routing and belt choice?

im using driftmotion's ac delete belt. works perfect and maintains great tension too. My battery is already relocated so i don't have to worry about that. just worried about clearances on the ffim by the brake booster.

With the JZ motors having them farther up in the engine bay i don't think it'll pose a problem. I need mounts and a flywheel before i drop her in the bay but i'll make sure to let you know. Keep your eyes open for a set of the pre 89 1jz mounts and a 1jz flywheel please :D

What happened to the green compressor housing?Looks really good polished though. Where did you get your hx40 without an internal wastegate?

got the housing with the turbo from someone on craigslist. That is infact the same green turbo that i decided to polish. I kinda got scared of the green at the last second and decided to go with plan 2. polished!
