NEVER spend $$$$ on parts you may not need !!! Period !!!

Ask around, alot, and find out who does good diagnostics in your area. Have it diagnosed first. (how do I know?? because I manage a smog repair shop)

I see it happen everyday. They come in telling me how they changed this & that, spent $$$$$$, and it still runs bad, or won't pass the smog test.

YOU can change most of the parts that you may really need.

MOST of the time (95%) we can adjust the AFM (N/A car), or clean the MAF meter (turbo car), and problem solved. SERIOUSLY !!!

+1 That should be carved in stone, its incredible to me how some people will throw part after part after part at a problem and then realize it was something simple and they just wasted a shit load of money.

O2 sensor maybe?

okay before we go diagnosing a rich mixture, lets verify that the problem is burning gasoline off. What color is the smoke on startup? maybe its coolant burning, or oil. Does it smoke while driving? does it stop after the car warms up? We need more info.

Good point, just because a car is smoking doesnt mean its smoking because its running rich. It might be because its burning coolant or oil. You definitely should answer all the questions he is asking here.
Black Smoke = running rich
Blue smoke = burning oil
White smoke = burning coolant

And if it IS running rich your injectors wouldnt be the problem since they would clearly be flowing well. And doesnt the AFPR raise the fuel pressure as boost levels rise? If it went bad wouldnt the car go lean?

Ah, didnt think about that. Joel is right though, if thats the problem one or more of the plugs will be much darker than all the others. Very good thinking though, and dont worry man. With all the great minds in here we will definitely come up with a proper solution for you.
