Well, only a month left of class before December holidays and that's when I get some free time to work on the supra for a bit. I don't have any crazy goals to accomplish before next spring, just to beat my last dyno (309hp/308tq) and to fix some things. So here we go!

Currently, I have completed a few basic modifications:

3" Downpipe from Cooleeze
3" test pipe from Cooleeze
HKS Super Drager cat back
Apexi SAFC
K&N homebrew intake
Custco repainted black strut bar
17" ADR Fuel rims w/ Kumho ectsa tires
Shimmed wastegate ;)

Before winter is out, I've made a promise to finish at least the following:
New Clutch - still undecided on brand/type
Valve stem seals
Valve cover gasket

And the wish list if money/time permits:
Upgraded turbo - 57 or 60 trim upgraded ct
Walbro fuel pump
550cc injectors
Aeromotive AFPR
Intercooler and piping
HKS MHG

Things waiting to be used:
HKS SSQV
ARP Studs
MBC
Lexus AFM

I've got some pics of the car in its current state in this thread

Yup, got some higher res pictures in the other thread linked at the bottom. But here are some pics the day I bought it - 2 years ago on the 13th of November! And a decent side shot with my buddy's 3000gt.

Yeah...I think ;) I bought the car off and older guy who had the head gasket done at the dealership in about '98. So, I would imagine it's a stocker with the new torque specs? Either way, I'm planning on a new HG soon =)

Fuel pumps are way better than math...heh.

Well, after an unsuccessful PS3 attempt, I decided to treat myself to some new parts.

Aeromotive FPR
Lucas 550 Injectors
Braided lines and fittings

So now I have all my fuel upgrade goodies =)

Finally got my clutch in - 3 weeks of shipping...gotta love cross border fun!

ACT HD00.

Now all I need is for Nashman to sell me his fidanza flywheel (and suspension!)

Finally got some work done on White Rice (my car's name :p ). Had Nashman (Ryan) and MrBaboon (Alex) come by and give me a hand. Was a good time ripping apart a whole bunch of stuff (again!) like the exhaust which I just put on, and starter which I just replaced :) Ahh good times.

I've been slowly collecting tools, and rarely get a chance to use them as I don't have a garage. Well, as you can see lots of 'em are still shiney and in their wrapping!

Here's Alex taking off some downpipe bolts...the studs even came with =)

Ryan got a chance to fix his AFM (throwing codes) and replace headlights/fogs.

Oh what's this? Never use an HKS intake! They suck...look at that grit.

2007-2-17%20Clutch%20Install%20005.jpg

You'd think that HKS would put out a better product.
2007-2-17%20Clutch%20Install%20006.jpg

Another supra?! Looks like next year's project or DD :) Would sure beat the rusted out Tercel I'm using now as my DD...

Still working on those exhaust bolts...I know I know, I can hear what you're saying. "WTF aren't YOU in there..." Well, somebody's gotta take some pictures every once in a while.
2007-2-17%20Clutch%20Install%20008.jpg

Alright, time to bring in the big guns. Nashman rockin' out the removal of anything/everything in a tenth the time it takes me =)

Well, Sunday went a bit better than Saturday. Got everything off and were ready to put the new clutch, flywheel, PP but appearently the zip I downloaded with the TSRM didn't have the torque specs.

Cleaned up the tranny a bit. It was pretty caked in oil/dirt from what I thought was a leaky rear main seal.
Before:

After:

Old flywheel looked OK. There were some burn marks (whoops!) but nothing a good surfacing wouldn't take out. The new fidanza looks way better!

And a successful grease pilot bearing trick removal. This is appearently a rare occurance - so I figured a good picture was in order!

And as part of the deal, I had to detail Nashman's new 92. He knows the mechanics part (I'm learning slowly), and I know the keepen' it pretty part. Washed, full clay bar, polished and waxed. Check out the attachments and tell me what you think.

So onto Monday, where I had to get to the shop first thing in the morning to roll the car out (so my bro can work!), and started assembling the snap rings etc. to the PP. All went well, cleaned up a lot of the greasy under bits and waited for Nash to show up after work.

Well dammit, it looks like they sent me the WRONG clutch disk? It doesn't fit onto the fidanza flywheel at all - not enough clearence, but fits the stock flywheel just fine. Now I'm wondering what to do...should I go order a new stock clutch disk from Toyota tomorrow or wait a few weeks (which I really don't have time to wait around) for the replacement ACT one to come in.

I've done some reading, and IJ said that ACT uses stock PP's and beefy disks, but other people say they use stock disks and upgraded PP's? According to horsepowerfreaks website, it's a beefy pressure plate with a stock disk...any ideas?

Well finally finished it off today!

So the short and skinny of it is the stock clutch disk doesn't fit the Fidanza without some filing down of the some of the rivets. So I got the stocker resurfaced this morning, and by 3pm started puting the tranny back in. Got some help from an old high school friend for an hour to mount up the tranny/drive shaft, and then Alex and I finished putting all the rest back together.

Here are some finished shots:

Me throwin' up the finger at the clutch change from hell ;)

And final roll out, done!

I big thanks goes out to Nashman and MrBaboon!

Well, my shine lip was damaged and I fired them off an email yesterday. They've already setup for Fedex to pickup the damaged box and filed a claim against it.

Talk about customer service!
