Hardtops are lame. Targas dont leak if you seal them correctly, anyone with a leaky targa is just TOO lazy to fix it right. Honestly, I cant understand complaining about leaky targas any more than I can understand calling the 7M an inherently bad engine.

As for targa flex with the top out, just buy or build a proper targa brace, problem solved. ;)

Not true at all.

I know a MKIV in the area that has a cage and he takes his targa off all the time. The bolts are in the same place, and there is plenty of room between the edge of the roof and the bolts.

Am i the only one with 3 targa Supras that don't leak a drop? It's easy to find an abused, neglected, rusted out Supra (or any other car), if you don't look too hard. As for weight, it's negligible. Much less than what most passengers body weight. But get whatever strikes your fancy.

i own both a hardop and a targa. hardtop is a stiffer car but there is nothing wrong with my targa either. as far as purchasing a supra, i dont think this should be a primary concern. i watch supras on ebay, CL, and autotrader all the time. if your patient you can find yourself a good car in whatever pricerange your looking in. remember the long it takes the more money you have to spend on it. vehicle condition vs. cost would be my main concern along with a manual trans.
