To run ISCV or not?

I have a 1J FFIM I'll be using on my 7M as soon as I have some last minute welding and polishing done. I just now realized that it wasn't provisioned for the 7M ISCV; and one from a 1J with a plug is a little hard to come by. What kind of problems can I expect if I decide to just put a block-off plate on. Rough idle?

Would it be worth the hassle to have someone fabricate an adapter plate to use the 7M ISCV in place of the 1J ISVC? If so, can anyone forward me to a place that could fabricate such a thing? Does a pre-made option already exist?

Thanks.

wont run well with that though. that may just take care of the stalling part. there are temp variations, etc that the ecu uses the iacv to adjust . maybe just have a flange made for the iacv on the manifold.

You can use a standalone to eliminate the ISCV but it takes a lot of work. Full lock on steering, A/C and wide open throttle release all can make the car stall without a ISCV.

i would use one of the honda valve kits. there was a guy selling one on here a few days ago. it works pretty well and can remote mount.

Progressive power steering right?

No -the air valve IJ speaks of is the power steering idle-up. It's purpose is to increase RPM during idle/low speed, full deflection turns.
PPS is controlled by a solenoid to decrease steering response at high speed.

Well I was able to score a 1J ISCV over the weekend (gasket too :) ); but it didn't have a diamphram. Does the 1JZ's ISCV use an identical diaphram as the 2JZ (or 7M for that matter)? If so, I might as well order a new one from Toyota.

Also, the 1J ISCV appears to use an identical plug to the 7M's, so not wire splicing for me! :)
