the PCV is in the rack housing itself, the pump has a different sized pulley for higher pressure.

i have Never seen a PS pump with a wire going to it even on a PPS car. Got pics to show said wire Lange?

i also checked with a local parts dealer and the PN for the 88 NA-Turbo PS pumps are the same as the PN's for an 89+ NA-Turbo PS pump. I don't see a difference between the two.

Progressive Power Steering

basically it uses a speed signal to tell the rack how sensitive to make the steering.

so stopped or low speeds it is easier to turn the car, and at highway speeds it's practically turned off to make it a little stiffer and not so easy to turn to make the car more stable at high speeds so you don't slightly turn the wheel and fly off the road

Chris: If you do use the PPS rack make sure you use the correct sized pump pully to suit.

I am going to use the pump from an Aristo 2J. I am assuming the Lexus cars have PPS so I am hoping the pressure will be close.

I have the PPS rack in my car. But, I don't even have it wired up and it is just fine for me.
I forgot to plug mine back in after dropping the engine back in once, and found it incredibly annoying. I was pretty sure I'd managed to kill the PS pump somehow, until I found the extra plug...

He said, maybe mine's similar. Aaaand..if it is similar, it should then be one year ahead of Jap Supras (mines 87, made on Dec 86 :)). That's why I said so.

Same pump different pully to overdrive it and raise pressure.

The electrics are in the rack with a bypass valve to reduce assistance at speed.

The pump also has an electronically controlled VSV for the PPS, and (in North America anyways), the pulley is the same between PPS and non-PPS.
