Have you tried jacking the car up from another spot. I normally jacked the car up from the 2'' wide frame rails that had the antirust rubber/stuff coating but i saw it getting pealed away fromthe jack and start to get kind of warped.

I've been jacking the car up from the thin metal slit next to the mudflap, halfway between the rail and the outside edge, its a thin metal part with two indents where the jack can go. I've seen several cars use those for jack points and for jack stands with no negaitve effects. I will be lowering my car too so i had to look for a different jack point.

I have a "low profile" aluminum jack from Sears ($200 :icon_conf ) It fits under the supra just fine, but on my bimmer I have to drive up on 2x4s first or use a scissor jack to lift it a little first then I can fit the aluminum one under :3d_frown:

I have had someone place jack under car while I'm lifting on bumper. pain in the back though :aigo: I like idea of rolling onto 2x6 boards should work well.

This looks cool

I've mostly used the engine cradle plenty strong gets both tires up at once and easy to place jack stands. I will not work under car without them I shudder at the thought of life in hands of seal in jack. I have had someone place jack under car while I'm lifting on bumper.

Garage, under Supra
I bought my aluminum floor jack at wal-mart on clearance for $55. The brand is Alltrade and I've been using it for at least two years and had no problems at all. Much, much better than my old Craftsman 3 ton I used to lug around that I swear felt like it weighed 75 pounds. Just as starscream wrote, the jack works great, but without the weight of a steel jack and a lower profile saddle that’s easier to get under the car. The only thing I notice compared to my 3 ton is that the 1 1/2 ton aluminum jack seems to have less hydraulic leverage and it takes a bit more effort to jack the car up. No big deal and well worth the weight tradeoff and design IMO. I’d buy another in a heartbeat. Oh yeah, it looks really cool too!

Have you tried/used/bought/owned that jack?
I'm in the market for one, and I might buy that one pending positive reviews...

I have the same one. Have you had problems with the swivel part that turns when you twist the handle that closes or opens the pressure. I've broke 2 of them. The part is made of cast. It is low though for my cars.

I ended up putting a 45lb plate behind each front tire and backing onto them. Gives me perfect clearence and cant get more stable than an iron plate to be on.

No problems yet, but I've heard a few people have had problems with them.
