To low for Jack?

So now with my new eibach/tokico HPs, my floor jack is too big to fit under the front end. I used to use the standard front end jack point but no way my jack fits now. I have a craftsman pro 3ton jack, it seems to go pretty low i thought.

Anyone have another jack to recommend or know the height clearance for the front jack point(right in front of the oil pan)?

Ive searchd and found a few threads on jackpoints, nothing specific about lowered cars though. I dont know if i like the idea of using the front tow hook or the side jackstand points to lift with. What about the front cross bar under the radiator would that be strong enough to lift with?

The best thing to do would probably be to find a cheap small jack (doesn't have to life much) and use it to slide up under there and get it raised up far enough to get your good jack under there. Do it in reverse to lower ;).

Just roll it up on a couple pieces of 2X4 and you'll get the jack under the car ;)

I thought about using blocks but seems like a huge pain and risk slipping off them and my jack doing some damage. With my jack ill need at least 3-4 inchs more to get under it.

If i pull the spindle off i can just barely squeeze under the cross bar. However, its takes about 50 small pumps because theres no clearance for the handle to pump ha.

Try an aluminum floor jack with a low profile saddle. These are so much lighter and the low saddle is easier to get under the car.

The one I've got (not the same brand mind you, but Identical design) is super light weight, rolls very easily, and jacks up the car pretty easily, I just don't know how long it will last being made of AL

Youd be surprised at how much nicer a lightweight jack is in all aspects.

Not to mention I need to replace mine. It works fine, but it doesn't have that quick-pump feature, so to raise it up to the subframe takes more pumps than it does to lift the car.. lol

i do what jdub does. just roll up onto some 2x4's (i use 2x6's because they're wider), and my jack fits under there just fine. :)

I actually built a pair of ramps out of 10' 2x8 planks
cut them both in half, then cut 2' off one of the halfs.
You're left with a pair of 2' sections, a pair of 3' sections, and a pair of 5' sections. I even cut 45* off the end of each so it makes an angle, and they're not square edged.

stack them, and you're left with ramps that look roughly like this from the side:

--------
------------

Me too! Also, these are great for alot of other repairs--- oil change. you don't have to drag the floor jack out.
