the supra needs power steering its a big car and weights a lot so you don't want to be fighting with it in ever turn if you want that go buy a 60's musle car with out power steering its the same feeling

lol, i dont see why people want to get rid of ps and a/c in these cars...
Seriously. The AC Pump was removed on mine when I bought it, one day in 80* weather and I wish it was in there, especially when it rains. At least I have a targa though. :)

it's not bad to do. you don't have to, you know; you could just drop in a quart of fluid each week (not a pint, a quart) like i did before i replaced them

Well Lordy, then. I must be fighting one hell of a battle. :icon_wink

No power steering, no air conditioning and it's hardtop. :icon_bigg

Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of seeing P/S threads.

It's a simple decision: Either you want and need it, or you don't.

If you seriously plan on doing any road course or auto crossing, then I would most definately recommend having power steering. A 3500-3600lb car, throwing it around corners and trying to hold your ground with two bare hands is quite the job.

I personally run without Power steering for my own given reasons.
Not because some joebob legendary Supra man says yes or no.

My handmade turbo intake pipe doesn't allow it, I'm a big guy so I can hold my own, and I don't do any type of auto cross. Simple as that.

You be the judge.

If it were my choice, I would keep power steering. I don't have it and I regret bending up the high pressure power steering hose (by accident) and taking off the pump before putting the engine in. But that being said, if the car is moving you can steer it just fine. I can get a good drift out of it without power steering. But I think I pulled a muscle near my ribs doing it cuz it hurts now, lol.

I too run without power steering for my reasons. If you guys think it is hard to steer without it, then you need to eat more protein (seriously) :icon_razz

A few others things to add while I am posting.

1. It looks cleaner in the bay without it
2. Drop weight
3. Free up hp

just look at boost lee's self portrait in his sig, then ask yourself: "why would the man even need a steering wheel?"

You damned well better believe it. :biglaugh:

Duane - It most certainly cleans up the engine bay! Just one less thing to clutter up a work of art, right? :icon_razz

Power steering and AC are for sissy's or daily drivers..

Supras don't need it :)

My car really isn't that hard to steer, although, it only weighs 3190 now and a good bit of weight has been moved to the rear.
