Thanks! Trying my best to keep the exterior protected this winter. Have a nice cover over the rest of the car while all this work is going on.

Here is another update for you guys.

This weekend I will install the oil pan, possibly reinstall the subframe, I'd like to start doing the valve cover gaskets, CPS oring and get the turbo mounted so I can work on the downpipe.

Will try to mod the Ebay downpipe to meet the flange of the He351. Goal is to only spend money on the correct v band flange and use all the exciting pipe and some stainless pipe I have laying around.

Spent about 2 hrs porting the manifold and started to paint. The collector I really opened up. The flash makes it look much rougher than what it really is. Sorry! Sanded down most of the bumps I can reach for the heatshields.

Didn't get a pic of the ports but I used a small engine hone to smooth out all the castings pretty far down! Happy with how it came out overall.

Did you use the same one? Seemed like this type was the most popular from what I researched

Ugh.

Ok guys I'll get the hard one. I'll find a use for the braided one sooner or later.

Appreciate the input everyone! Thank you

Forget what you heard! The Braided line is fine. Make sure all the washers are new and all is torqued to spec. Event put a bit of RTV on the upper threads(not the tip that threads in to the pump) with all of this clean and dry oil free, let sit over night and you are good to go.

That is not a hand made line, it's pressed/crushed fittings.

I've run mine for over 3 years no issues AT ALL - seen 70-75 psi on warm up and Oil pressure is always fine all of the time.

The issue here is that the SS flex lines aren't designed to be submerged or immersed in oil/gasoline/petroleum fluids. So who knows how long they'll last in service if used in this manner. YMMV

Polytetrafluoroethylene - (PTFE) - C'mon man stop spreading BS. These vague comments kill me from members that never tried one. These lines burst around 700psi and the fittings even higher so just stop.

Unless you have experience with Driftmotions Oil Line, not any other one, keep opinions to a minimum as People are trying to Actually Build stuff and not just Talk about it.

Next!

Here are some teaser pics!

What color for the heatshields? Black or silver? I'm leaning towards black

Black would look great imo. Is that an hx40? What size exhaust housing did you go with, looks like it may be a gillet housing?

He351cw. Picked it up on eBay for $250!

The compressor side is the same as the hx40. 60mm. Hot side is a 9cm stock housing that I modified. .68AR if I recall off the top of my head.

Today was exciting!

Tomorrow will be even better.
-Doing the valve cover gaskets,
-Installing the manifold/turbo
- putting back the subframe

Getting ready for paint. Also painting the holset cartridge but did not get a pic.

3 of the 7 studs were stripped so I heli coiled all of them with the Driftmotion kit. This drill is a must!

And where all the magic is happening! Spent so much time to set up this garage. Sometimes I feel like I spend more time cleaning that I do working!

If you haven't put oil in the engine yet, you may look into a fumoto drain valve for the oil pan. With just the twist of your finger, it makes for basically a mess free oil change if you go with a oil filter relocation
