It's Not Important Bro
I purchsed a TMS MKIII Downpipe with Turbo Elbow from Supraastore back in June. Well aftert the first box was lost by FedEx, I just received my replacement part from the vendor yesterday and I am not sure they sent me the correct part. No packing slip was included.

The part i received has the stainless mesh flex-joint in it. I did not think the TMS I orderd had the flex joint in it.

If anyone has this part and can confirm to me that the TMS should or should not have the mesh flex joint in it, let me know. Or, if there are any other distinguishing marks that could let me know if I have the right part or not.

Here is the link to the part I ordered.

Thanks

post a pic, I know other vendors that sell downpipes have that option of a flex section. They probably just through it on there for free.

Yea, I am cool with it having the flex joint. My main concern is the unit also is supposed to have the integrated elbow which I thought was a nice feature. The one I got just does not appear to have an integraded elbow, the angle just does not look right. I dont really know what the angle is supposed to be.

So, again, if anyone has ordered this exact part and it does have the flex mesh joint then let me know please.

It may be that I will have to contact suprastore next week to see what the actual part number. I just wanted to install tomorrow and trying to solve this issue today on the boards.

SHHHHHH. Having the flex pipe is WAY better then having a solid DP. When the engine twists and the DP dosent, well just think of it, something has to give/brake. Think of what the DP attaches to.....the turbo, you do not want to put any more stress on it then you have to.

Ninja edit: I see you just posted. Your pipe dosent have the integraded elbow??? Then you have the wrong one. The integraded elbow is a GOOD thing to have for performance.

pics would help alot in this.

as far as the flex section, its nice to have but not NEEDED. i have been running a solid bic for a few years now without issue. people who follow me report the muffler shimmy's some but other than that no ill effects. no cracks in any parts and i do beat on my car fairly regularly....

Flex joint is overrated. Stock DP from the factory didn't have one. Engine doesn't twist that much to "break" the exhaust. And if it does then you need to look at some motor mount replacements. Besides, you have rubber hangers throughout the exhaust that compensates for the engine movement. Personally, I'd rather have a nice smooth straight pipe for exhaust to flow through in the DP section.

Not to mention the woven wire ones look like that inside...

Bottom out on the downpipe without a flex and you're just waiting for broken motor mounts, stripped exhaust studs, ect...

*GASP* I've been corrected. It's not like that woven crap. How much do you think that stock flex will give? Still overrated. Just get a DP that doesn't hang to the damn floor. And I'm not going anywhere dammit!

Stock pipe has plenty of give.

Not overrated, it's a durability thing, unless you don't like your motor mounts and you like exhaust leaks... Not to mention clunks and bangs from the exhaust slapping the underbody.

The TMS downpipe does have the flex section, i ordered mine 2 months ago, im pretty sure all their downpipes have the flex in it.
Heres a pic of mine before I installed it. Does yours have an 02 sensor port on it? If it does u probably got the correct one.

Rennat, you posted a pic of my DP. LOL thank you for the deal ;)

i couldnt remember who i sold the black one too. it was a nice deal though. that titan downpipe is fine, although, you could have easily bought a divorced downpipe for less $$$... but im sure the quality on that pipe is top notch. and i actually like where that flex section is more than most of the other downpipes. gives you better ground clearance.

ahhhh N87Turbo,thats what I wanted to see. Perfect. I do have the right part. I was just confused cuz the downpipe on the web site hat I purchased from does not show the flex joint in the picture but now I understand that they changed the design but did not change their outdated picture.

Good News, now where is my toolbox and my copper anti-seize. Let the exhaust install begin. Putting on Tanabe Touring Medallion, TMS DP, Apexi Intake and Hi-Flo cat.
