I still have the tires that came with my car. They are a brand that I haven't heard of but they hook to a point then are gone. They never squeal, all I get is traction then it heads for teh rev limiter faster than I can let off the gas. I was just wandering what everyone else is running for street tires. I'd like more traction before they let go but don't want to spend tons of money. Any help would be nice.

I am running Kuhmo Ecsta MX's

Check out the rating on Tire Rack. they don't rate every single tire and don't carry everything but it help to give a good idea of how certain tires perfom comparied to others

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+MX

their #2 in there Catagory = Extreme Performance Summer Tires according to Tire Rack though. So who knows. They are a advanced silica, rubber compound

is that a typo

245-60-16 would be a tire that is to big for the car a 60% side wall on a 245 tire is larger then the stock diameter of the tire or what the tires should be.

For example 225-50-16 is stock if you went 245-45-16 that would keep the same size basicly just a hair shy of proper wheel size

I run 235-45-17's

235 is the width of the tire

45 is a Percentage of the Width for the side wall hieght

17 is obviously the rim size.

Edit i edited the OEM tire size made a typo myself

Don't buy the Falken Ziex 512's unless you want to drift. The tires are rock hard and I break my rear end free constantly with them. I don't think I'll have that problem with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-3D's, wet or dry.

or it could be how small your tires are... wtf

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 245-60/16 or Bridgestone Potenza's

the bridgestones on my old na were awesome. only complained when pushed at 9/10ths, wore great, when traction broke it was very gradual and controlled. i miss those tires :(

currently run futura ultra z's and they are a great cheap tire with loads of grip and they wear wonderfully. 10+ drag passes and they still look great but i think they are a touch too hard overall but might be its more power in the same tire size.

you guys need to learn something about tire sizes. It does affect your spedo, your tranny, Engine and Differential.

either way be careful about the size of your tire selection and make sure that it is the correct diameter according to what woud be there regardless of what your rim size is

I say get some Dunlop Direzza's. Its a good tire that seems to be pretty popluar over here in Japan. I'am personally rockin' Falken 512's on my ride and am pretty pleased so far.
