I'm finding amazing prices at some places online. Has anybody done this? Which site do you recommend? I'm just looking for some cheapie tires for my daily driver. Size 205/ 50 16's. I just need two, but at some prices i've found I'm considering replacing all four.

Speak on it.... please.

i bought rims and tires for my celica from tirerack.com and tires for my supra from e-bay but they ended up being from discount tire direct.

both times i had 100% satisfaction and have had both sets for over 2yrs. with no problems...also came fast.

I have bought tires from TireRack.com & DiscountTireDirect.com. Both have great prices on product & shipping. Only problem I found at 1st was finding a tire shop to install them. Most wont if not purchased there & those that will charge more. However I still found it worth it & hard to beat. Next time I plan on getting tires I'll print out the price I get online & take it to a local tire shop & see if they will match it + there reg mount & balance fees. With today's economy more shops esp privately owned will negotiate.

I've done all of the above. Tirerack.com prices and shipping charges are higher than at discounttiredirect.com. Once I get them I take them to the local retailer, and they have always been happy to mount and balance them for me. I've also printed the quote, figured the tax instead of shipping, and called around for a local retailer. The problem is they sometimes are out of the tire you are looking for. So instead, I just shop online and have them installed. That way I have the tires i want.

I have ordered tires from 245/45-17s all the way up to 42x16.50x15s...from tirerack.com and tires-easy.com. Both very easy and shipping wasn't bad.

If you got a capable younger brother, or friends with a shop teacher. most high schools can mount and balance your tires. but make sure you dont get some doucher and ruin those nice shiny rims

Ive ordered from tirerack several times, and you can have them delivered to a recommended local installer if you want or need...or take them to the installer....also make sure you mention the price tirerack quotes it will be lower than there normal rate ive found...or at least what they will try to charge you. I had them delivered to goodyear directly this last time and the tirerack quoted install price was a total of $45 cheaper than there posted price.

discounttiredirect.com = FTW. I bought (4) Toyo 255-45-zr18 for my caddy, all shipped to my front door for $300!
I should have bought a couple more sets at that price, but need the extra cash for other things at the time :nono: I know a few other owners that bought 4 sets all at once because of the deal. The hardest part I guess was hiding the tires from their wife's.

I never bothered with the road hazard warranties. If the roads are bad in your area (debris, potholes, etc...) it might be a good idea.

I've ordered from tirerack.com, discounttiredirect.com, and edgeracing.com for tires- all good experiences.

Local Sears price matches Tirerack.com for me, and I have Sears do the mount/balance/alignments for me.

sears dicked me on a set of sumitomo tires that wore out after 5k miles (center rib was completely gone, and i'd kept them at 32 psi that sears inflated them to). i had paperwork, receipts and recorded mileage of when they installed them. they said they wouldn't help me, it was my problem now.

i've never gone back since, buy my tires from tire rack and have a great shop around here put them on
