Tire advice/suggestions please

Ok need to get some rubber for my 18" x 8.5" rims.

Car has eibachs and tockico illuminas, will have ~400rwhp, will be a daily driver (will use a mild fuel map for the trip to work and back, and then a "fun" fuel map for light track and fun)

I'm thinking this for the rear: Falken AZENIS RT-615 255/40r18 same brand for the front or ?

I'm thinking 225/40r18 on the front, but not sure what tire to go with.

Anybody used this tire? Got any better suggestions? not looking to break the bank but I would like to get some decent traction in the back.

I would like to test it out on the 1/4 mile but it wont live there. Maybe some auto X eventually.

I've got Falken 452's...been good to me so far.

Front 235/40 on 18"x8" rims
Rear 275/35 on 18"x9" rims

I've never been disappointed in the RT615 as a street tire. However RT615 run wide for the size and 255/40/18 is a large OD and wide for an 8.5", 255 is almost square on my 9.5".
If you have 8.5" all around and want the RT615, go 245/40 for square or 235/40 if you need a bit more stretch.

Do you have any pics of your setup? I dont want any stretch and I I kinda like a little meat over the rim (not too much).

I second teh Falken FK452's.

I ran 245/40/17 on an 8" wide rim on the front last summer. There were wonderful for the street. They were quiet, and gripped very well. And one of the best tires ive ever felt in the rain. And to top it all off, they are very affordable.

I will be running a set again with my new rims once the car gets back on the road.

I run the 615s, and you're right, they are a handful in the rain. If the pavement is wet, they are marginal, but as soon as there is actual water over top of the driving surface, they are downright scary. I run winter tires through late fall, winter, and early spring to avoid most of the rain.

On the other hand, they grip like nobody's business. I've driven quite a few tires over the years, and nothing short of true R compound tires holds up to these.

Damnit Grim! Just when I had my mind made up.... the grip is the main reason I wanted them!

But it will be a daily.... I think I better go with the 452's....
