i dont think you should just play around with timing like that.
timing depends your mods.

Good point, I haven't had any problems running 15 deg., even when mine was stock, but I've always run 93 octane. Some have run 15 with regular with no problems.

Well then I might back my timing down to 10 degrees because I don't have the money to be putting in 93 octane, lol.

I don't know what the gas costs there but do the math, premium only costs a few bucks more per tank, likely less than the cost of a gallon of gas.

Very true but then thats like 30 bux you could have had after 10 tanks when really you dont need that much timing and prolly arnt gaining much if any at all from it.

Gas here is pretty expensive. It still only adds up to $2-$3 per tank but when you fill the tank twice a week it adds up over time. I still run premium in all my cars but for some people that's an extra few dollars they can eat.

Im going to the drags tonight just for shits and giggles with my N/A automatic supra.. I have been running the timing at 10 degrees BTDC but also have been using regular 87 octane.. I want to use 91 or maybe even 105 octane just for the drags (several rebel stations have it here in vegas).. What should I put my timing at.. I was thinking 14 Degree's BTDC for 91 but didnt know what would be safe for the 105.

Thanks in advance.. What are your opinions on this

Well, Im back from the track and had a lot of fun tonight! Anyways I ended up doing pretty good for a non turbo auto supra with stock exhaust and intake.. I was consistent all night at 17.1 @ 83 mph with a 2.5 60ft

I ended up putting 100 octane race gas in and advancing the timing to 20 degree's and ran 8 runs on that. I only put 3 gallons in as it was 6.00 a gallon and seemed to be plenty to get me there and run all night. Anyways well afterwards I was out of gas so I put some regular 87 in and put the timing back to 10-12 BTDC, on the way home it felt like it reacted faster and pulled harder than with the 100 octane so I think the computer was recognizing knk and pulling back timing.. I will do exhaust and intake this week and try again in two weeks with 91 and the timing advanced to 12-14
