my 92 turbo automatic constantly over heats, i only have a greddy boost controller that i run at ten psi sometimes otherwise it is a stock jspec engine that i replaced the original with. sometimes i can smell gas while boosting and i think theres a little oil in the water, and a small oil leak, i know pretty weak huh? anyways i recently set my timing back from about 14-15dgs btdc to around 12dgs btdc and white exhaust is now pouring out the tail pipes especially with throttle, of course i tried setting it back but something blew. I think its time i changed the head gasket and was wondering what other mods i should take care of while im in there to make this thing run like a dream at 10 psi all the time, any suggestions or advice about mods or repair ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Water or tranny fluid. Odds are, water, as we don't have a vacuum modulator :)

BTW, try not to post the same thing twice, ok? You posted in the correct place with this thread - the 2nd is just clutter.

For one thing, stop driving it.

the more you overheat the thing the more chances you have of seriously damaging something.

if you even suspect having your coolant/oil mixed anywhere change it now.

do a compression check.
get a block tester, if you fail that test you will know exactly whey your overheating. (bhg)

white smoke = water or as stated atf
blue smoke = oil
black = fuel.

*edit*

No, seriously, You need to pull your plugs, see how they look, and do a compression test before you even crank that motor back up.
