alright so i had a ticking noise in my engine bay i thought it would be valve lifters...but as stated these dont have lifters...so im thinking either adjust the shims...so i took a screw driver and started searchign..but the only place i can find any ticking noise are the fuel injectors...but im thinking valves if they are near eachother...and may i add its all the fuel injctors...once i open throttle..it ticks with the current loud noise in my engine bay....i just read somehwere that someone stated ticking can be fuel injectors so i want to establish this and get some input

I could be wrong but i have heard the stock FI's are a bit noisy. Though the cam/valves will ALWAYS have a tick to them. Freshly built or not.

take the oil cap off of the valve cover, if it gets louder after you take it off then it's probably your valves. mine tick really loud

yea ticking noise is normal i think, my injectors do the same thing, but if it's loud ticking like knocking than that is a problem.

Probably the injectors. Every Toyota I've owned has had the same loud injectors that only get louder with age (2 22RE powered, 1 7AFE, 1 5SFE, and the 7MGTE all did it). The Supra's are nothing compared to the 95 Celica (7AFE) I had, those were the loudest injectors I ever heard.

The 7M is the only one I've had that has the valve tick, which is louder when it's cold and goes away when it warms up. If it's over 75 F outside you can't hear it in the cabin even on a cold start.
