i think this just might be one of the funniest tickets anyone on here may have gotten.

i got a ticket not warning for excessive white smoke, the supie was still very cold and hadnt been started in about 3 weeks. now granted the turbo is on its way out but come on. once the car had warmed up it cleaned up 90%(on deacel it still smoked some).

i just dont know why they have to waste my time. the car was driven to where it is being parked for the winter and a new turbo is on its way within the next week. all of this was told to the officer but he still issued a ticket.

i just thought it was kinda lame for a BS ticket.

I believe it, especially with the weather change over the past 3 weeks. I've seen large amounts of steam from my exhaust certain days as well; from only sitting overnight.

When I was much younger I used to get tickets for "Excessive noise/smoke" all the time in my Chevelle...for doing burnouts in parking lots, lol. Never got one for exhaust smoke though.

i got a fix-it ticket for not having license plates. BUT, i had the form saying i surrendered the plates to the DMV, AND i had my permit on the back of my car. i hassled with the POLICE officer but he was still a dick. i called up my SHERIFF (FTW!) buddies, and they said, he had no right issuing me that ticket becuase i had proper documentation. i got it cleared a few days after.

is it even a valid ticket? i mean it just doesnt seem like its a "law". the local cops have a reputation for some strange tickets that are just thrown out. it just is a waste of time.

lol no not a bhg. the car had an older turbo on it and the seals were crappy. i would say slightly more smoke than a cold morning, not james bond style.

LOL...i wish they would write tickets here for cars smoking....
Couple of weeks ago i got behind a 5.0 mustang and he noticed i was behind him so he got on it..MFer was burning so much oil it spit it all over the front of my car/windshield...Moral of story:If theres oil drops all over your windshield..DO NOT turn on the wipers..made it 12Xs worse.

HAHAHA. that sucks but was funny.. the oil on windshield story... as far as the ticket goes... what exactly was his reasoning for the ticket.. like what did the ticket say?? that has alot to do with it.. if it just says car was smoking then most likely your giong to get away with it. unless of course you dont have a cat. in your exhaust or anything like that...techinicaly it is illegal to have any kind of moddified exhaust on your car. stupid law. most cops wont do anything some dicks will. but as for your car smoking.. was it alot? like enough to obscure a drivers vision behind you? if not i dont see what the big deal is with it. my dad works for the state police and i know there are actualy alot of laws with exuahst but still its kinda stupid for the cop to give you a ticket after you explained it to him. my dad is actualy head of CSI for the state police

I am going to be the oddball and here and say I am glad he gave you a ticket and I hope there are a million more on the way for drivers with improper running/tuned cars. I cant stand getting behind a car the has oil/fuel smoke wafting out of the tail pipe. Then getting aspirated by the fumes as they pull away. Most times I see this, it is on a car with new wheels and really small tires with the latest body kit and wing on it. Spend the money on the motor first asshat!
