I'm looking to replace my throwout bearing, as mine is gone and making a hell of alot of noise. Is the OEM throwout bearing from Toyota good for 400-450rwhp? I've heard that they have a tendency to break and whatnot.
Anyone here running 400rwhp with a stock Toyota throwout bearing?

Thanks,
Ryan

SERIOUS? well, if your still using the stock one, I'll take a chance with the stocker. I wouldnt be surprised if it was insanely strong anyway. Its Toyota, what else can you expect?
Anyone else still running the stock throwout bearing? How much power?
How much power do you estimate you are making a_sesshoumaru? How hard do you drive from a scale of 1-10?

Ummm HP has nothing to do with throwout bearing life.......

The more HP you have the heavier the diaphram in the clutch will be to hook it up but you're going to crank walk the motor long before the throwout bearing fails from load.

Most fail through age or contamination/being cleaned in solvent.

I guess I'll be ordering a throwout bearing from Toyota then. Since I'm doing the throwout bearing, what other transmission seals should I replace?

Thanks IJ.

+1 On replacing the front and rear seals of the tranny. Plus the rear seal on the engine is just couple of bolts away. I just did my tranny seals and it was like 26 dllrs from Autozone they were TIMEKEN I believe, they fit like a charm. Good luck :naughty:

Alright, sounds like I'm on a mission. I'll order all of my seals and the throwout bearing. Would you guys believe Toyota wants $421 for a fucking power steering pump? Thats insane. Looks like no power steering for me. It's hard enough steering that boat, but for that price; hard it is.

Thanks again guys.
